Questions
Frequently asked questions
What clubs usually want to know before they get in touch.
What does our club actually gain from this?
Revenue, by way of engagement. Supporters who follow the club closely โ reading the match report, checking the table, following the commentary during the game โ are the same supporters who buy a ticket, buy the shirt, and renew their membership. An engaged audience is also worth more to a sponsor. OneNil is built in that order: give supporters somewhere worth coming back to, then let the club sell to them on its own channels, where the relationship and the data stay with the club rather than with a social platform or a ticket marketplace.
- What is OneNil?
- OneNil is a digital platform for football clubs. It covers three products from one place: a club website with its own content management system, an official online store, and a native mobile app. Clubs run it under their own branding, on their own domain. The team behind it is based in Cluj-Napoca, Romania.
- Who is OneNil for?
- Football clubs of any size, from grassroots to professional, and other sports teams that want a closer connection with their supporters. The platform assumes a club has staff who write content โ news, match reports, team news โ but not that it has any developers.
- What does the club website include?
- News and articles, fixtures and results, match detail pages, a league table, player and squad profiles, sponsor placements, a video section, and site-wide search. Live match commentary is included: staff post minute-stamped lines during a match, and pre-match notes before kick-off.
- How does OneNil keep supporters engaged?
- Through things a supporter takes part in, rather than only reads. Campaigns run as giveaways and sign-up drives around a moment in the season. Predict the Score runs on every fixture, and during a match there are live predictions on what happens next โ the next corner, the total number of goals. Taking part earns tokens, which the club converts into benefits worth having: a store coupon, a discount on a ticket. Rewards that redeem against the club store arrive alongside the store itself, which is still in development.
- Can our own staff update the site without a developer?
- Yes. Content is managed in a back-office that club staff log into directly, where news, matches, players, sponsors and homepage sections are all edited. Publishing does not require a code change, a rebuild, or waiting on a release.
- Which CMS does OneNil use?
- Contentful, through a connector the platform ships with. That is where club staff write news, set up matches, maintain player profiles and configure which languages the site publishes in. Because the CMS is reached through a connector rather than being wired into the product, support for further CMS platforms is planned. If your club already runs on a particular system, tell us which one and we will say where it stands.
- Can we move our existing website content over?
- Yes, and it is included. If a club is leaving another platform, bringing its existing content across โ the news archive, past fixtures and results, player profiles and images โ is part of setting the site up, not a separate project billed on top. Tell us what platform the club is on today and what is worth keeping.
- How does live match commentary work?
- Someone on the club staff opens the match in the back-office and posts lines as the game goes on โ a minute number and the text. Pre-match notes such as the confirmed lineup and team news are kept separate from the live minute-stamped lines. A posted line reaches the public match page in about a minute, and any line can be removed again with one click. The match page also carries an audio player that supports a live audio feed, so a club can commentate over the game as well as write it.
- Is there an online store?
- A club store is part of the platform and is currently in development. The planned scope is a branded storefront on the club's own domain, shirt personalization with a live preview of the name and number, checkout handled by Stripe, and product, stock and order management inside the same back-office the content team already uses.
- Is there a mobile app?
- A native mobile app is in development, iOS first. It runs on the same platform as the website, so content published once appears in both. The roadmap page shows where it currently stands.
- Can we use our own branding and domain?
- Yes. The club's identity, colours and crest are applied throughout, and the site runs on the club's own domain. Supporters see the club, not OneNil.
- What languages is OneNil available in?
- This website is published in English, Romanian and Spanish, but a club's own site is not limited to those three. Languages are part of the CMS configuration, so a club publishes in whichever languages it sets up there. Content currently runs through the Contentful connector; support for further CMS platforms is planned. Tell us what your club needs and we will confirm what is possible today.
- How much does OneNil cost?
- There is no public price list. What a club pays depends on which of the three products it needs and how much setup is involved, so pricing is agreed per club. Email sales@onenil.eu with what your club is looking for and we will come back with specifics.
- Can we see it before committing?
- Yes. There is a working demo at demo.onenil.eu โ a complete club site you can click through, rather than a set of screenshots.
- How much of OneNil is ready today?
- The club website and its content management, including live match commentary, are built and running. The online store and the mobile app are in active development. The roadmap page lists what is done, what is being refined now, and what is planned next.
